2014 Call for SCOR Working Group Proposals (deadline: 15 April 2014)
The XXXII SCOR General Meeting will take place in Bremen, Germany on 15-17 September 2014. Details about the meeting will be posted at www.scorint.org/Annual%20Meetings/2014GM/2014GM.htm as they become available.
The SCOR Secretariat will accept proposals for new working groups from now until 15 April 2014. New guidelines, a template, and word limits have been developed for working group proposals following the 2013 SCOR annual meeting. The new instructions are available at www.scor-int.org/Working_Groups/WG_Proposal_Instructions.docx.
Each proposal will be evaluated by national SCOR committees in terms of scientific merit and quality, timeliness, and achievability of the proposed terms of reference. National SCOR committees are an important aspect of SCOR’s operation and can play a key role in reviewing working group proposals and in seeking new funds to support working group activities.
Annual SCOR meetings are open, but anyone submitting a proposal or included in a proposed working group membership will be asked to leave the room when their proposal is discussed. SCOR started this practice in 2005 to avoid any appearance of favoritism toward proposals that are represented at the meeting by a proponent.
