Report of 6th IMBER HDWG MEETING

MEETING GOALS

 
 
  1. Introduction of new WG members and their participation in HDWG activities
  2. Discussion of the new IMBER Science Plan and Implementation Strategy and development of a Work Plan for next phase of the IMBER HDWG, representing the interests of all members
  3. Continued development and future of I-ADApT
  4. Funding and collaborations and new members for 2018
 
 

KEY MEETING OUTCOMES

 
 
  1. New HDWG members agreed to develop a first draft of the conclusion chapter of the I-ADApT Synthesis book (Societal and governing responses to global change in marine systems).
  2. Mini-typology meeting planned for July 2016
  3. I-ADApT to go on-line!! Two domain names purchased to host I-ADApT website
  4. Decision to develop two proposals, one to the Sumitamato Foundation (Japan) and a larger multi-year proposal (the BIG proposal) possible to SSHRC (Canada), NSF or other.
  5. Recommend formation of task team to address IMBER´s Grand Challenge (GC) 3.1
  6. Suggest that HDWG proposed work with I-ADApT will address many aspects of GC 3.2
  7. Too Big To Ignore (TBTI) workshop on I-ADApT and small pelagic SSF in the Fall, 2016.
  8. Next meeting proposed for Hobart, Tasmania. (Plan B, Nantes, France)
  9. Ingrid van Putten has agreed to be the next Chair of the IMBER HDWG, Yinji will continue as co-chair. Congratulations to both!!
