I am in the first year of my postgraduate study, majoring in Areas Studies. As an explorer, I am open-minded to hug the plural world. I have been interested in international relations since senior high school. After becoming an English major, I have a greater appreciation of the subtleties of intercultural communication. During the past few years, besides participating in professional English lessons and courses related to economics and management, I have pursued opportunities to broaden my vision and gain more multidisciplinary knowledge. I took courses related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. I also took part in various activities related to global governance and international communication. The interdisciplinary learning experience strengthened my resolve to explore the reality of the world. Now, I really look forward to work as an intern at IMBeR, knowing more about ocean sustainability in the context of global change.

I’m Xinyu Liang, a senior conquering the geographical world at East China Normal University. I’ve added a touch of Nordic charm at Aarhus University as an exchange student and tackled Contemporary Political Theories at the University of Oxford – because who doesn’t love a bit of adventure? I enjoy sports in my spare time, but my height suggests that I could never be a good basketball player. After traversing Europe and undertaking internships in various sectors, including government departments, multinational corporations, and college offices, I unearthed a profound interest in engaging with international organizations. My tenure as a student president, class monitor, and leader of a national competition team has not only fortified my language and computer proficiency, but has also finely tuned my communication and organizational aptitude. I’m convinced that the secret to true happiness is doing what you love with people who you admire, and that’s why I joined IMBeR. Cheers to a future filled with challenges, laughter, and miracle!
