The Ocean100+

We are assembling an integrated interdisciplinary ocean community to develop and implement the Action Plan for the Ocean, The Ocean100+. This diverse team of representatives from over 100 countries, will seek to:

  • Develop international capacity in integrated analyses and risk-based assessment of ocean threats and actions.
  • Build on current activities and develop partnerships drawing on expertise and inputs from established programmes and bodies.
  • Provide a forum for the global ocean community to engage in the development of an Action Plan

Ocean100+ is building momentum:

  • We already have network of 120 participants from over 55 countries (see map), bringing together a wide range of perspectives and expertise.
  • The inaugural Steering Committee has been established which will guide the next phase of work by advancing methodology development and risk assessment analysis.
  • Current efforts focus on identifying existing assessments from a range of regions
  • These assessments and regional knowledge to identify and rank key risks in different ocean systems.
  • This will lay the foundation for co-developed options for action, ensuring strategies are practical, inclusive, and scalable.
