Visa Requirements for China

Participants from most countries will need to obtain a visa to enter the People’s Republic of China. Please reach out to your local Chinese Embassy, Consulate General, or Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC) for specific visa application requirements. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended date of entry. It is recommended to apply early.

China has introduced a pilot visa waiver policy for ordinary passport holders from 38 countries. Under this policy, travelers may enter China without a visa for stays of up to 30 days for purposes including business, tourism, family visits, or transit. Travelers from these countries who do not meet the conditions for the visa exemption will still need to apply for a visa.

240-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy

Citizens of countries eligible for the 240-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy can transit through designated ports of entry in China without a visa.
