IMBeR would like to thank James Orr for his amazing contribution to the SOLAS-IMBeR Ocean Acidification (SIOA) working group. Jim’s impact as chair of the working group, over many years, has been incredible. We welcome Sam Dupont, who has taken over as chair of the SIOA working group.
Sam Dupont is an associate professor and senior lecturer at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. His research focuses mainly on the effect of global changes on marine ecosystems and specifically the biological impacts of ocean acidification. He also works on the development of innovative science communication and education strategies to tackle global challenges. His work includes the evaluation and capacity building for marine science in developing countries, particularly in South America and through the Ocean Acidification International Coordination Centre (OA-iCC) and the Global Ocean Acidification Observing Network (GOA-ON).
